Welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Stephanie Yeong. I graduated with a Bachelor of Design (Games) from RMIT Melbourne - with high distinction! - in December 2012. I'm interested in almost all areas of art, but I especially enjoy developing interesting concepts and doing communication design.
I started playing games since I was a child. The first game I remember playing was Tetris and Minesweeper - my father's favourites. When I grew older, I was sucked into the virtual black hole that is Defense of the Ancients (DotA) and Counter-Strike 1.6. It was these two iconic games that spurred me on to study game design. After three years of analysing and studying all kinds of games (and successfully climbing out of the black hole of video game addiction), I found that my primary interest lay in coming up with ideas that stood out and captured the hearts of viewers.
Most importantly, I learned to reign in my creative energy and focus on delivering that right product for our target audience, instead of running off with the wild ideas in my head. I learned how to brainstorm and develop fresh concepts as well as build them from the ground up, constantly tailoring the project along the way to ensure that I do not stray from the original goal.
